Facing Political Uncertainty: Practicing Self Care to Stay Whole

Course Summary & Objectives

This course will cover the fundamentals of self-care for clinicians (including nervous system regulation, self-care as an ethical and social justice imperative), how political uncertainty can impact wellbeing and practice, and ways for clinicians to manage stress from political uncertainty through the use of specific tools and strategies. This is an online, asynchronous (self-paced) course that uses a combination of reading, videos, question/answer, and reflection exercises to engage participants. The course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be familiar with:
- The foundations of stress and self-care for clinicians
- How political uncertainty can impact wellbeing and practice
- Ways for clinicians to manage self-care stemming from political uncertainty through the use of specific tools and strategies for self-care

Approved for 1 CEU by the:
- Kentucky Social Work Board
- Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board for Social Workers, Clinical Social Workers,  Marriage and Family Therapists,   
  Mental Health Counselor, Addiction Counselors, and Clinical Addiction Counselors

Please Note: Many licensing boards accept CEUs from out-of-state providers that have been approved by other state boards. Depending on your state, separate paperwork may need to be provided to your state board for approval of out-of-state CEUs.  However, some do not require additional paperwork or approvals at all.
